Winter Teas
South African herbal Rooibos Solstice
Made by Summit Spice & Tea Company, this herbal blend is a delightful mix of flavors.
Orange, vanilla, and peppermint combine in a bright, sweet infusion with a soothing finish. It makes me think of bright firelight and cozy sweaters. This is the perfect tea to sip on a winter evening.

Comfort & Joy Tea
This bagged black tea is made by The Republic of Tea. It is hands down my favorite Christmas tea, and drinking it brings back many happy memories.
A bold black tea with notes of cinnamon, cloves, and licorice makes any day feel like a holiday! There is a subtle sweetness to this blend, imparted by bits of dried apples amongst the spices. It’s not strong enough to give the blend an apple flavor, just lends a complementary hint of sweetness.
I like this tea best black, but it goes well with milk too. The sweetness makes it an ideal dessert tea. The warm spices match nicely with fruitcake! This warmly spiced blend is sure to become a holiday favorite!

Raspberry Black Tea
On some winter afternoons, I crave a delicate afternoon tea that’s still strong enough to drink with milk. Rich and sweet, this tea is heavenly with a splash of milk.
I have tried several different brands, and my favorite is Herman’s Boy, a local specialty of Rockford, Michigan. It is a loose tea that comes in a charming paper packet. If you can’t find that, try this loose Arctic Raspberry Tea from the English Tea Store.

Spiced Cranberry Tea Recipe
Another lovely winter tea that you can make at home and store in the freezer is Spiced Cranberry Tea. Anyone down with a cold or flu will thank you!

Spring Teas
Bangkok Green Tea with Coconut
Green tea is synonymous with springtime, in my book. This refreshing blend lends tropical Thai-inspired flavor with coconut pieces, ginger bits, and vanilla essence.
I like to make a large batch of cold-brew tea in a big glass mason jar. We call it “sun tea.” Simply place your tea leaves and fresh cold water in a clear jar and set it outside in a sunny spot for about twelve hours. Strain the tea out and chill in the refrigerator; alternately, make your tea double-strength, and dilute with plenty of ice cubes. Enjoy!

Wedding Tea
An unusual name, but I do love this delicate white tea with vanilla, lemon, and rosebuds! It is delicious both hot and iced, depending on the whim of the weather.
Try it for a springtime tea party! Your guests will be intrigued by the lovely blend of flavors. This tea would also make a perfect bridal shower gift.

Breakfast in Paris Tea
If you can’t do without your black tea in the morning, but crave something floral for spring, may I suggest Breakfast in Paris? This black tea blend is substantial, yet delicate with its flavors of bergamot and lavender. I find it perfect with a splash of milk and some buttered toast. Perhaps a croissant would be more appropriate?

Summer Teas
Butterscotch Creme Iced Tea Recipe
For a summery iced tea recipe, try this dreamy Butterscotch Creme Iced Tea. It’s a cool and refreshing drink with a smooth taste and just enough sweetness to tantalize your taste buds, not overwhelm the tea’s flavor.
I used Butterscotch Blondie Tea in this recipe, which is also delicious on its own!

Summery Bright Citrus Teas
I like bright and zingy teas for summer afternoons, usually without caffeine. These citrusy teas from Stash Tea are all so good, I couldn’t choose my favorite! Luckily, you can find them in a sampler set, so you can try all three.
Flavors of Meyer Lemon, Tangerine Honey Daydream, and Lemon Ginger will have your taste buds dancing, even if the weather is not as sunny as your teacup.
They are equally good hot or iced; try honey as a sweetener! It pairs perfectly with the lemon, especially in a tea-based lemonade.
If you don’t prefer lemon, you can find the Tangerine Honey Daydream white tea on its own here.

Porch Sippin’ Pecan Black Tea
The name says it all: this is the perfect tea blend for making your own Southern Sweet Tea on those endless summer days. While it is a lovely thirst-quencher served over ice in a pitcher, I also enjoy this tea hot on a cool and breezy morning.
Its aroma is sweet and nutty, something akin to pecan pie. I like it best black, but you could certainly swirl in some milk for a creamy dessert tea!

Blackberry Sage Tea
One last tea that I find particularly comforting in the summer months is Blackberry Sage. This tea from the Republic of Tea is both fruity and herbal, a refreshing black tea blend with less caffeine than most. However, if you are sensitive to caffeine, there is also a decaf variety available.
This tea pairs perfectly with drippy, wet weather or cool, foggy mornings. Drink it to dispel worries and feel at peace.

Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea
As soon as the air turns chilly, I reach for spicy tea blends. This fragrant black tea from Harney & Sons will warm you right through!
Notes of orange and cloves mingle with three types of cinnamon, creating a lovely depth of flavor. This tea is much more than a plain cinnamon tea. It’s sure to give your taste buds a thrill!
***
Cinnamon Plum Tea
This sweet, comforting blend embodies coziness and conviviality. Sweet cinnamon and ripe plums bridge the transition from Indian summer to fall, with memories of sunny afternoons and fingers sticky from harvesting fruit.
It’s a bagged black tea from The Republic of Tea. The lower caffeine content makes this a perfect dessert tea, and a splash of milk makes it even more decadent!

Teas for Every Day
These are the teas that always have a place in my cupboard, no matter the season. They are steady favorites that have all the enduring charm of old friends.
Barry’s Gold Blend
This fine Irish black tea has long held pride of place as one of my favorite teas. Barry’s Tea has several different blends, but this is my particular favorite. It is a strong black tea blend that turns a lovely golden color in your teacup.
How strong is it? Well, one of my roommates insisted each bag could make three cups of tea! I prefer my tea rather stronger than that, but this definitely stands up to a generous amount of milk.
If you like Irish Breakfast blends, you are sure to enjoy this tea!

Clipper Tea Organic English Breakfast
If you fall into the English Breakfast camp and don’t want such an intense start to your morning, try this lovely offering by Clipper Teas. This blend is perfect for everyday!
Clipper Teas are organic, non-GMO, fair trade, and sustainable–plus, they are delicious! This blend is becoming one of my staples. Clipper Teas offers a variety of black and herbal varieties, so be sure to check out their full selection!

Earl Grey Tea
I have to be in a certain frame of mind to enjoy Earl Grey tea, but it is perfect on those days. Art of Tea makes the most divine Earl Grey Creme tea that I have ever tasted, but it is on the pricier side. It comes in loose leaf tins or little sachets. Stash Double Bergamot Earl Grey is another good option for loose leaf tea. (It also comes in bagged form here.)

Peppermint Tea
Peppermint is my favorite type of mint, and likewise my favorite herbal tisane. I grow my own mint during the summer, but I can never allow myself to run out of peppermint tea, so I buy considerable quantities of it as well!
I find that each brand tastes different, and they all taste different than my own herbs, so there must be different varieties of peppermint out there! My favorite bagged peppermint teas are from Celestial Seasonings and Stash Tea Company.

Don’t forget your tea ball!
If you don’t have a tea infuser, or don’t have one big enough for your teapot, I recommend this one.
